****Students need a flat rock to paint on Tuesday. It should be about the size of your palm. Dear Parents, We have had a lot of fun this week with our Dead Word Funeral, Trick or Treating, candy donations, and poetry. CCES students donated 321.6 pounds of candy. Fourth graders donated the most with 79 pounds. We are blessed to have such generous students at Canyon Creek. We are looking forward to Coffee House Poetry after the Thanksgiving Break. Please notify the main office for changes in departures or messages for your child. I check email prior to 7am and many times do not get another chance until after car duty is over. The office will send a notification pink slip to your child. No Spelling this coming week, but students are required to complete their Reading Log. Mentor Poems- students are required to memorize and recite a mentor poem. The poem selection is due Monday, November 7th. The poem should be grade level appropriate and no less than 16 lines long (healthy lines- not two word lines). The poem must be approved by me. This poem will be included in the poetry book your child is making. It will be typed with a 2.5 inch left margin and 2 inches for the remaining margins. The border should be illustrated. An example is in the slideshow above. Book Fair next week Thank you so much for supporting our book fair!
