Dear Parents,
Blue jeans go green! A BIG thank you to all who participated in our denim drive. The fourth grade collected 428 denim items that will be donated to the RRISD Clothes Closet. This fourth grade service project was a fun learning experience for us. Reading Logs begin again this week, but we are taking a break from Spelling. Our "Dead Words" will be put to rest on Monday. Please have your child wear black/dark clothing for our funeral. The goal is for students to use better word choice in their writing this year. Thank you to the fourth grade parents for the tasty Friday Feast. We are most appreciative of this special treat. From Ms. McCall: November is here and you know what that means! It is time to change our character word of the month! Our character word for November is GENEROSITY!! We celebrate Thanksgiving in November and the last half of that word is GIVING. Being generous or "giving" means that you give your time, your kindness, or your possessions to other people without expecting anything in return. You do this because you enjoy giving to others. In November, if your teacher sees you being generous, then you will get a sticker to wear all day so that other students will know that you demonstrated our Character Word of the Month! Have a wonderful weekend! Virginia Units of Study Language Arts: Study the structure and art of poetry; nightly reading log Spelling: No Spelling Math: Division and interpreting remainders Science: Patterns of the Earth Texas History: Native Americans in Texas Upcoming Dates 10/31- Halloween! Drop by for a special treat at 11112 Calavar Dr.
