Dear Parents,
It's been a fantastic week in fourth grade. We are off to a great start! Arrivals: When students arrive at school, they can enter the building as early as 7:20 am. Morning work begins promptly at 7:20 am with announcements starting at 7:40 am. The tardy bell rings at 7:40 a.m., and students must be present at this time. Any student arriving after 7:40 a.m. must report to the office for a tardy slip. Dismissal: Discuss a consistent place for your child to meet you after dismissal. Thank you for having a plan in place. Snack anyone? We will have snacks right after recess at 10:30 a.m. Please help your child choose a healthy snack to bring to class each day. Please make sure the snack is dry. We are eating our snack while working. This is a quick pick me up, not a three course meal. We also welcome students to bring a water bottle. On days when we have inclement weather or the heat index is too high, we will have a break in our day for indoor recess. The safety of our children is foremost in our minds. Wish List: Please feel free to take a posted item from our wish list wall located outside our classroom. Thank you to those who have already made a donation! Birthday Parties: If desired, parents are able to purchase frozen yogurt or cookies through the school cafeteria for an entire class. Arrangements for birthday items should be made through the cafeteria prior to the occasion to ensure sufficient quantities are available. So we do not have hurt feelings, please do not distribute birthday invitations during school hours. Parent Meeting: Back to School Night will be Tuesday, September 10 at 6:45-7:15 pm This is a very important informational meeting for parents. We kindly ask you to make arrangements for childcare. We look forward to seeing you! Multiplication Math Facts: Students MUST be able to recall all multiplication facts through 10 X 10 with instant recall. Mastery of these facts are essential as fact recall is a cornerstone of our curriculum! Please work on this skill at home.
